If all goes smooth, expecting mothers would receive a cherishing news. The minister of state for Animal Husbandry, A Manju said the government is mulling to provide milk and ghee at free of cost for pregnant woman. The minister who has been recently inducted to the state cabinet said in city a proposal to provide free milk and ghee to the expecting mothers by the KMF (Karnataka Milk Federation) was earlier placed before the government.
He assured he would deliberate on this with the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in order to draw decision to materialize the same. “The expecting mothers would get free milk three days in a week and 2 k g of ghee every month, if government agrees to roll out the scheme” he added. Curd to get cheaper: The KMF taking note of the suggestions would be selling curd in a small packet costing Rs 8 as against recently designed packet of 250 m l sold at Rs 10. The KMF considering the demands of the consumers has decided to resort to old system of packeting and costing.
