Chief Veterinary & A.H Officer Wokha conducted awareness camp on fertility management in bovine on December 15 – 16 at Chukitong and Wokha town respectively.
The camp was conducted under the aegis of the National Project on Bovine Breeding and sponsored by Nagaland Livestock Development Board (NLDB) during 2014-15.
In technical session, deputy chief veterinary officer, Wokha, Dr.Mhonchan Shitiri highlighted the intent of the camp and encouraged the farmers to go for backyard dairy farming.

He also emphasized on the topics of breed selection, A.I, care & management of calves, heifers, farm sanitation & hygiene and livestock insurance schemes.
Dr.Mhonlumi Lotha also spoke on the topics-dairy cow management, feed & nutrition, measures to obtain maximum fertility, common diseases in cattle and vaccination schedules also encouraged the farmers to build on the four pillars in dairy industry i.e. breeding, weeding, feeding and heeding for maximum benefits.
Earlier the camps were chaired by SVFA, Tsudenshan and supervisors, Mhonchumo. Mineral feed supplements were also distributed to the farmers.
